Starting your private practice can feel overwhelming: websites, policies, fees, marketing, admin… and people seem to say (and think) there’s a “right” way to do it, but just like our clients, we're all different, and there's no template for success when it comes to being a therapist.
I work with counsellors and psychotherapists who want to build their practice on their own terms. Together, we look at what’s working, what’s not, and how you can grow with confidence, without the one-size-fits-all advice.
I'm Grace

I didn’t start my practice with savings, connections, or a business background. I started Counselling With Grace with fear and a determination to make it work on a budget.
After years of hearing unrelatable advice like “just trust the universe”, I realised how much new counsellors need real and affordable support from someone who’s been there. That’s why I created Practice Pathways, a space for counsellors and therapists to get practical, grounded guidance from a fellow counsellor who understands what it’s like to start small, to feel unsure, and to build something meaningful in a way that truly fits you.
How It Works
However you like to learn and develop, there’s a space for you here. Each service at Practice Pathways has been thoughtfully designed to meet a range of needs and working styles:

Inclusive Mentoring Fees
Starting or growing your practice can look very different depending on your circumstances. To keep mentoring services accessible, I use a sliding scale pricing structure that looks like this:
Tier | Who It's For | Fee Guidance |
Concessions | Those on a low/unstabe income, building their practice on a tight budget. | Suggested if your annual income is below £20,000. |
Standard | For those earning an average/stable income, where the standard fee is a managable investment. | Suggested if your annual income is around £20,000–£30,000. |
Supporter | For those in a comfortable financial position who wish to help make this work accessible to others. | Suggested if your income is over £30,000. |
Why? Because not all of us start from the same place. Some counsellors step into private practice from higher-paid roles, while others are building their practice on a shoestring. A sliding scale helps level the playing field a little and that kind of diversity only strengthens our profession and the clients we serve.
If you’re unsure where you fit on the scale, choose the fee that feels sustainable and fair for your circumstances.

A Bundle of Support
One-to-one support for a total of 6-weeks, ideal in those early months of practice.
Perfect if you’d like a little continuity and accountability as you build your private practice.
We’ll meet every other week (in-person or online) for three focused sessions, creating space to reflect, implement changes, and grow your confidence.
What you get:
- A 60-minute session to get to know you and make a plan.
- A practical session for up to 2-hours.
- A 60-minute review and next steps session.
- A WhatsApp chat for check-ins inbetween sessions.

Get Grounded
A focused 90-minute session where you can bring your biggest questions, blocks, or decisions to the table: whether that’s pricing, marketing, policies, niche decisions, or just gaining confidence in how you show up.
These sessions are practical, collaborative, and always led by what matters most to you.
What you get:
- A WhatsApp chat to send the things you want to focus on a week before your appointment.
- A 90-minute 1-2-1 mentoring session (in-person or online).

Policies and procedures are the backbone of a professional, ethical, and sustainable counselling practice. This workshop gives you time, guidance, and community support to build documents that truly reflect you, balancing structure with empathy and values.
We’ll start with a clear, practical overview of what needs to be covered and why, then move into guided time to draft or refine your own policies with feedback and ideas from both peers and facilitator.
